Getting ahead of ourselves.

What’s really getting in your way?

I adore my clients, each and every one of them.

They are strong, powerful and amazing women who are all living lives that are beautiful and complex, messy and miraculous.

I know that women have the hardest time choosing to invest in themselves, usually choosing to put their time, energy, and resources into serving and supporting everyone around them.

Yet often, despite what they believe, and through the process of doing the hard work in coaching, what we discover is that it is not what they originally thought that is the block.  There is always so much more, and we are able to uncover their deeper truth so that we can begin shaping a path forward aligned to what they really want and need.

Lisa is a perfect example.

My incredible client, Lisa.

Lisa was struggling to launch and grow her business, feeling overwhelmed, indecisive, and stuck. She hired me to help her gain clarity around what she needed to do and align her time and attention to the right actions.

As we began to talk through the overwhelm, I learned that Lisa (in her 60s) was also building a beautiful new relationship with her partner, and they were navigating some early and important, vital conversations and disclosures.

I discovered that she was deeply in love, but carrying shame around her financial journey, and current situation. She was nervous about how her partner would feel when she disclosed the full truth about her financial reality.

As a result, she felt both nervous and anxious; putting incredible pressure on herself to produce more income through her business as fast as possible.

In our coaching sessions, we talked through her financial “story”, her relationship with money and abundance, and the many ways that her story has contributed to her feeling disempowered and ashamed. She is smart, successful and has already been making courageous decisions that will move her into a new and empowered phase of her unfolding journey.

We planned for the conversations she would have with her boyfriend and how disclosure, while scary and hard, would allow them to deepen their connection and partnership.

She ended up having an intimate, deeply honest conversation with him. Through her vulnerability, they talked about her bravery, commitment to her business and doing work she loves; and how they will navigate their financial future together. He made sure that she knew she was not alone.

It was not until we addressed her feelings of shame, scarcity, and discomfort; and she was able to have the hard and honest conversations with the man she loved, that we could begin to talk through what needed to happen with her business. Her mind, body, emotions and spirit can now focus on the work she wants to be doing in the world.

And by the way, her business is now rocking it!

Getting to the truth.

Often, it is not what we think that is actually getting in the way.

We put pressure on ourselves to fix things that don’t address the truth of how we feel or what we really need. Mostly because it can feel really hard and uncomfortable to uncover and acknowledge that truth and face it head on.

I get it.

I have been there many (many) times before.

Rather than seek to understand what is really getting in the way and address it, we get ahead of ourselves trying to fix what we think the problem is.

However, we are such beautiful and complex humans; and our emotions, energy, and souls are often having their own experience underneath the daily activities of work and life. Things are often not what they seem, and it isn’t until we get clear about what is really going on that we can begin to see what is possible.

Lisa thought that if we could solve her overwhelm and time management challenges, her business would be able to grow. When in fact, her energy and emotions were really focused on how to bring the truth of her financial reality into her new and beloved relationship.

So I wonder…what is getting in your way?

Where might you be getting ahead of yourself, rather than taking time to uncover and understand what is going on under the surface?

This is our work.

Because our life gets better and better. But only when we are honest about what we truly feel and experience.

I know it is hard and that it might feel like slowing down when you want to speed up.

But I promise you, it is so well worth it.

YOU are so worth it. ❤️
